JAMES CITY COUNTY--A loaded .17 caliber rifle magazine was found in a classroom at Hornsby Middle School Wednesday, according to James City County Police.

A 7th grade student told a teacher he saw the magazine on the floor in a second floor classroom, police said.

The school was placed on 'partial' lockdown for nearly two hours.

Police said they questioned several students. They later identified a 7th grade boy that allegedly brought the magazine to school. No charges have been filed.

No weapon was recovered. Police continue to investigate.
