UPDATE: 11/6: 25-year-old Ashley C. Hall of Va. Beach is charged with six felonies to including Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Eluding Police and several felony drug charges. Hall was also charged with four misdemeanors to include Possession of Marijuana, Driving while suspended, Reckless Driving and Failing to Obey a Traffic Light.

PORTSMOUTH -- One woman is in custody after a police chase in Portsmouth Monday night.

Police spokeswoman Det. Misty Holley told that officers were called around 8:45 p.m. about a possible burglary in progress in the 1000 block of Douglas Avenue.

As officers approached, a woman in white Jeep Cherokee sped off.

Holley says officers pursued the woman east on High Street when she crashed into a white Lincoln Town Car that was heading west at the intersection with Elm Avenue.

The driver of the Lincoln,a 58-year-old man, was complaining of neck and leg pain, so he was taken to the Maryview Hospital.

The female suspect is in custody with charges pending.

Officers confirmed there was a burglary in the 1000 block of Douglas Ave.

Police asking drivers to avoid the intersection of High Street and Elm Avenue as of 9:15 p.m.
