9:50 a.m. UPDATE: Teresa Hunter, 25, who was driving the car, is charged with felony eluding police, child endangerment, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and defective equipment.
The one-year-old child in the vehicle didn't belong to either woman in the car. The boy was picked up later by his mother, who is a friend of Ms. Hunter, police stated.

CHESAPEAKE -- Chesapeake Police say a gun and what's believed to be drugs were dumped from a car during a pursuit Thursday night.

There were two women and a baby in the car that wouldn't stop when officers tried to pull them over around 9 p.m. The vehicle took off from Berkeley Ave and Amick Road but was stopped a short time later at Border and Bethel roads, said Det. Dorienne Boykin.

The items tossed from the vehicle were recovered by officers, she added.

No one was hurt and charges are pending.
