NEWPORT NEWS - A Portsmouth man has been charged after he allegedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old child.

The 11-year-old victim and the adult who reported the incident met with investigators Monday and told them 54-year-old Bobby Freeman assaulted the child the day before, according to authorities. They say Freeman knew the child.

Freeman is charged with two counts of sodomy, two counts of object sexual penetration, one count of aggravated sexual battery, and one county of indecent liberties with a child.

No additional information was released.
