In announcing the first-of-its kind operation for the agencies, Marshals Service officials noted five arrests they call significant:.

-Melvin Sutton, 43, is accused of felony possession of cocaine
-Holly Marie Higgins, 32, was arrested on charges of assault inflicting serious injury, resisting arrest and probation violation
-Osman Martinez, 37, was wanted for assault by strangulation
-Javona Marie Jones, 26, was arrested on a charge of felony probation violation

'The goal of Operation Tightrope is simple to hold individuals accountable for their actions. The success of Operation Tightrope is the result of the United States Marshals Service partnering with other Federal, State and Local law enforcement agencies to relay a message to these criminals, and that message is that they can't hide in Eastern North Carolina,' said Scott Parker, United States Marshal.

Pasquotank County Sheriff Randy Cartwright was happy with the results.

'It was significant because of the amount of Intel gathered and the drugs and guns that were removed from our streets, which will go a long way in solving other crimes that the local agencies are working on. This is just one of many operations that local agencies are going to be working on to combat the gun and shooting violence in our communities, as well as other crimes. There is more to come,' he promised.
