VIRGINIA BEACH - A special race will be run on Saturday in Va. Beach.

The Allen Stone Memorial is a tribute to the late Navy SEAL. Stone won the 20-29 male age group in the first year of the run, which was called the Braveheart Run-Swim-Run. He died soon after during a training exercise in 1999.

Race organizers decided to rename the event to honor Stone's service to our country and in tribute to their fallen friend.

The race is Saturday, July 20 beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Neptune's Park at 31st Street/Va. Beach Hilton.

Proceeds from the race benefit the Va. Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad and The Navy Seal Foundation.
