ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. -- At least one person is dead after a trailer home caught fire early Friday morning.

Firefighters responded to the trailer off 343 South St., about a mile south of the Camden County Courthouse. Authorities said a neighbor called 911 to report the fire around 3:48 a.m.

A neighbor tells 13News Now it was pouring rain and windy when he saw fire trucks race down the road.

Investigators said Hurricane Arthur's high winds fanned the flames of the fire. When crews arrived, the home was engulfed in flames.

Authorities believe only person died inside, and they haven't released the victim's name. The body was taken to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center and the medical examiner will do an autopsy report.

The fire marshal is still investigating the cause.
