HAMPTON -- After weeks of searching, police captured a man wanted for a shooting in Hampton.
20-year-old Floyd Lee Taybron is one of two men accused in the July 21 wounding of a 20-year-old man on W. Queen Street.
He was taken into custody around noon during a traffic stop on Glasgow Way.
Hampton and Newport News Police said officers were watching 'an associate' of Taybron's and a 1998 silver Acrua. Police pulled the car over and the driver ran away but Taybron stayed in the vehicle. That's when police arrested him.
Police said Taybron and 19-year-old Tyrek Allen were riding in a vehicle when they approached the victim in July and opened fire.
Both men are facing charges of maiming, using a firearm in the commission of a felony and one count of shooting from a vehicle.
The driver of the Acura has been identified as Tyrone Demetrius Batten. He's wanted on charges of Driving While Suspended, Obstruction of Justice and Reckless Driving. If you can help police find him, call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
