VA BEACH - It's the local version of Dancing with the Stars with a twist - it's for people over age 60.

The free 'Dancing with the Seniors' program will be led by Marquita Bianca of BailaFuzion, one of Hampton Roads' most renowned dance instructors, says officials with Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia.

Participants will learn ballroom, Latin, cultural, line dances and more in eight instructional sessions between March 5 and April 26. Classes are held in the first floor of the Sandler Center in Miller Studio every Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The series will conclude with a Senior Prom on April 26 so participants can show off their moves.

The program is put on by The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, in partnership with Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia.

Registration has begun. Contact Senior Services at (757) 461-9481 for more information.

Atlantic Shores is the title sponsor of this program.

'We at Atlantic Shores are delighted to present this fun series for seniors,' said Atlantic Shores Executive Director Eden Jones. 'We hope a large number of young-at-heart dancers of all levels of talent take advantage of this fantastic, free program.'
