CHESAPEAKE --Police have arrested a suspect in an overnight shooting that left one man seriously injured.

Clifton Cuffee, 25, of Malcolm Court was arrested and charged with malicious wounding and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.

According to a press release, officers responded to a shooting around 2:20 a.m. on Saturday in the 2200 block of Plow Lane. When they arrived, the found a 29-year-old male on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head.

The unidentified victim was awake and able to speak with police. He was taken to Norfolk General Hospital.

Police arrested Cuffee just before 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The shooting remains under investigation.

No word on the victim's condition.
