PORTSMOUTH--Three suspects were arrested Thursday in connection to the 2005 shooting death of Ramon Lisandro Castro.
Detectives charged 26-year-old Kevin Deonte Lassiter, 25-year-old Dominic Kevon Sexton and 44-year-old Efuru Ayanna Tuere with first degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and armed burglary.
According to police, in 2005, the three suspects knocked on the front door of the Castro's home in the 2100 block of Charleston Avenue in Portsmouth. Castro opened the door and was forced inside at gunpoint. While inside, the suspects allegedly shot two people and assaulted several others while demanding money.
Lassiter and Sexton were taken into custody at their homes without incident.
Tuere was arrested at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the Portsmouth Sheriff's Office.
