DARE COUNTY -- A Dare County man has been arrested after police found an apparent marijuana growing operation at his home, officials said.

Police arrested 47-year-old Timothy Lee Grauer of Kitty Hawk on Tuesday after 76 marijuana plants, bulk marijuana, grow equipment and several firearms were found at his home by The Dare County Narcotics Task Force.

'I would like to thank the Task Force for a job well done. These officers work hard everyday to keep our County safe. I also appreciate the help that we continue to receive from our citizens. You are an important ally in our battle against crime,' Dare County Sheriff Doug Doughtie said.

Grauer was arrested for manufacturing marijuana and placed under a $2,500 bond.

Other charges and arrests are expected in the case.
