NORFOLK -- A bearded Tom Hanks was in town Thursday.
The famous actor, who's starring in 'Captain Phillips,' visited Charlie's Cafe in Ghent.
The movie is based on the 2009 hijacking of the Maersk-Alabama. Part of the film will be shot in Virginia Beach starting Friday.
The restaurant posted pictures on its Facebook page of Hanks posing with fans. One woman wrote on the page, 'Tom is certainly close to unrecognizable with the beard. One of the most respected actors in the U.S....how cool!'
Charlie's wrote that Hanks ordered the 'Granby Platter,' now the 'Tom Hanks Granby Platter.'
''Captain Phillips' has an expected release date in March 2013.
