NORFOLK -- Doctors are CHKD say they have seen an increase in cases of Pertussis, or whooping cough, among area children.

The hospital has seen 26 cases in four months.

It's not an epidemic yet, but they want to get the word out to vaccinate both babies and caregivers.

Doctors say the effectiveness of the vaccine wears off in three to four years, so a booster is a must.
