NORFOLK - Bus and light rail service will completely shut down at 6:00 p.m Monday.
Hampton Roads Transit officials say there's so much flooding in low-lying areas that it can't provide reliable service to riders across the region.
As of 11:00 a.m., The Tide was running only between the Norfolk State University and Newtown Road stations.
Bus service would be cut back as conditions worsen throughout the day.
Ferry service across the Elizabeth River between Norfolk and Portsmouth was stopped this morning because one of the docks was under water.
Normal transit services will resume Tuesday and keep watching conditions at the morning high tide around 10:00 a.m.
