ALEXANDRIA Federal marshals captured one of Rhode Island's most-wanted murder suspects in Norfolk.

Darrell Johnson was captured at a convenience store Wednesday.

On Nov. 24, federal marshals in Rhode Island received information that Johnson was in Norfolk.

Deputies in Rhode Island then contacted authorities in Norfolk to request assistance.

Deputies identified Johnson inside a convenience store as he walked up to the counter and arrested him without incident.

Johnson was wanted by Pawtucket police and has been on Rhode Island's most wanted list since the homicide of Joshua Burgo in July.

Authorities say Johnson shot Burgo in the chest when an altercation escalated.

Burgo's murder is believed to be part of an ongoing feud between rival neighborhood groups, in which at least five other people have been shot since May.
