PORTSMOUTH -- The Coast Guard suspended its search for a 32-year-old man Tuesday who reportedly had fallen overboard Monday morning.

Coast Guard officials say Bernard Redmond was aboard the Fleeton, a 170-foot fishing vessel, in the Chesapeake Bay.

The Coast Guard searched for approximately 21 hours covering 300 square nautical miles.

The master of the Fleeton contacted the Coast Guard around 9 a.m. Monday reporting a crew member was last seen as the vessel was transiting the Chesapeake Bay, and the crew member hadn't been seen or heard from in a few hours.
