SUFFOLK -- A family of eight was displaced after a house fire on Saturday in the East Suffolk Gardens neighborhood.

Emergency Dispatchers received a call around 2:40 a.m. about a fire in the 1000 block of Custis Road.

When firefighters arrived heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the rear of the single story ranch style home.

The fire was declared under control within 25 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross assisted the family of four adults and four children.

The cause of fire is being investigated.
