VIRGINIA BEACH -- Two Virginia Beach girls died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash on Sandbridge Road Wednesday night.

The impact ejected one passenger in the Nissan, according to authorities.

Police said 14-year-old Cheyenne Desire Patricia Gurney died at the scene and 10-year-old Cherish Lailani Gurney was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The remaining four juveniles and the adult driver remain hospitalized in critical condition.

The driver of Toyota pickup was treated for minor injuries; the passenger is in stable condition at the hospital, according to police.

The case remains under investigation.
