NEWPORT NEWS -- Police are searching for the man who robbed a credit union in Newport News Tuesday morning.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. at the Virginia Educators Credit Union in the 800 block of Main Street.

He gave an employee a note demanding money and implied he had a weapon, said police spokesman Lou Thurston.

The robber is described as black with scruffy facial hair and had on jeans and a red and white striped shirt.
