DALLAS -- A two-year-old child was injured after falling during a performance at the circus Wednesday night.
The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus was underway at the American Airlines Center when the incident happened. The toddler's family was getting up from their seats on the 200 level right before intermission when the girl fell to the Plaza level below.
Dallas Fire-Rescue crews working at the AAC rushed to the girl. She was taken to Children's Medical Center by ambulance.
There is no word yet on what caused her to fall, or what type of injuries she sustained.
The circus says Thursday night's performance will go on as scheduled. A spokesperson for the AmericanAirlines Center says they are looking into the incident, but they believe the child's fall was just an unfortunate accident.
The fall appears to be unrelated to the circus performance itself.
