NORFOLK -- A man was robbed late Tuesday in the Ghent section of Norfolk and police say they have the suspect in custody.

A man reported being robbed at gunpoint around 11:25 p.m. in the 900 block of Spotswood Avenue.

Responding police spotted a possible suspect getting into a car on 21st Street and drive off, so an officer tried to pull him over, said Officer Daniel Hudson.

The driver didn't stop until reaching the 3300 block of Gosnold Ave. and that's when he and his passenger bailed out. They were caught after a brief foot pursuit and charges are pending, Hudson added.

The victim wasn't hurt.
