For the second time in just over a week, a vehicle crash in Temperanceville, Virginia resulted in a death.

Catilina Perez Mejia, 30, of Nelsonia, Virginia was killed Wednesday when she failed to yield and drove into the path of a northbound Dodge Durango at the intersection of Temperanceville Road and Route 13, according to Virginia State Police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Anaya.

Mejia, who was driving a 2001 Hyundai Accent west on Temperanceville Road when the crash happened, died at the scene.

Virginia State Police were called to the crash at about 4:47 p.m.

Three passengers in the car were transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland with injuries.

The driver of the Durango, Scott Rosenwald, 39, of Elizabeth City, New Jersey, suffered minor injuries, as did one of the four passengers.

Alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash, Anaya said.

Tammy L. Ayres, 43, of Painter, died in a vehicle crash Aug. 12 near the same spot when, driving north on Route 13, she lost control of her car and spun into the southbound lanes and into the path of another vehicle.
