SUFFOLK -- As students and educators prepare for the new school year, clean-up of playground equipment is underway at one Suffolk school.

Around 3 p.m. Monday, an officer responded to Northern Shores Elementary School and saw that someone had sprayed silver and gold paint on the equipment and a stop sign at the school's entrance.

Much of the graffiti was too vulgar to air on 13News Now.

Last week, mailboxes were vandalized on Williams Road, Garden Lane and Normandy Drive in Suffolk.

City spokeswoman Diana Klink said it is unknown at this time whether the incidents are related.

Police say there were no witnesses to the vandalism. Investigators ask anyone with information to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
