RICHMOND (AP) -- Virginia Commonwealth University is now using Zipcars, a car-sharing service.

School officials say the company is offering four self-service Zipcars to faculty, staff and students 18 and older. The cars will include a Honda Insight and Civic, a Toyota Prius and a Scion XB.

Those eligible can join Zipcar for a $35 annual fee. The rates are $8 an hour and $66 a day.

VCU officials say the Zipcars are part of the university's efforts to help alleviate congestion on campus and conserve energy.
