VIRGINIA BEACH -- Virginia Beach Police say detectives are working tirelessly to find the killer of Norfolk police officer Victor Decker.

It's been almost seven months since he was shot and killed outside the Atlantis nightclub in Virginia Beach.

Meanwhile the pain is still fresh for his widow, Dawn Decker.

'I guess in the first couple of months, it was self-preservation and shock mostly. Little things kind of bring it back to the forefront of my mind. It's just like it happened,' said Decker.

Virginia Beach police say two homicide detectives are working full-time to try and solve the case. There are leads but detectives say they can't share them with the public yet.

Dawn Decker says there still are not a lot of answers when it comes to how her husband was killed.

'All I can say is that possibly Victor stepped in and intervened in something. I don't know anything more than what's out there, so it's all speculation.'

A candlelight vigil for Officer Decker will be held at Town Point Park in Norfolk on May 28th at 8 p.m. The day marks Decker's birthday.
