NORFOLK - A woman was pulled from the Lafayette River near the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club on Thursday morning.
Someone heard yells for help coming from under the Hampton Blvd. bridge just before 8:00 a.m., Capt. Mike Hicks told WVEC.com.
Norfolk and rescue units got to the scene, located her and got her to shore. Authorities say she had little or no clothing on.
The 20-year-old woman was taken to the hospital to be checked out, police spokeswoman Karen Parker-Chesson told WVEC.com.
A post on the 13News Facebook page said, 'Don't know if its related, but there was a pile of clothes and a woman's bag on top of the bridge on Hampton Blvd.'
Investigators are working to determine how she ended up in the water.
