RICHMOND, Va. (WVEC) -- A periodic reminder that you can get in big trouble with what you bring with you to the airport, even if you're a caped crusader.
First, a Hanover County man was caught bringing a loaded handgun into Richmond International Airport on Sunday.
TSA officers found the 9 mm semi-automatic in his carry-on at a checkpoint. Investigators say it was loaded with 15 bullets. The man was issued two summonses to appear in court.
Meanwhile over at Charlottesville Albemarle Airport, three razor-sharp batarangs were discovered in a carry-on bag last week:
"Batman isn't even allowed with these on a plane," noted TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein in a tweet.
The owner of these blades voluntarily surrendered them after being told they could not be taken past the TSA checkpoint. The passenger was allowed on board the flight, afterwards.
