Doug Wieder is 13News Now's President and General Manager.
Prior his current position, Doug served as Executive News Director and oversaw the News Department. He served in that role from 2012 to 2019.
Doug also was an executive producer for 13News Now. He joined the team in 2003 as senior producer.
While Doug served as Executive News Director, 13News Now received several Emmy and Murrow awards. The honors include best newscast, breaking news coverage, documentary, and investigative reporting.
Doug graduated from the Executive Leadership Program of our parent company, TEGNA. He is past president of the Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters.
Prior to joining 13News Now, Doug was a reporter, anchor, and producer at stations in Richmond, Chattanooga, and Macon.
Doug is active in several charities and groups including a local food pantry, Habitat for Humanity, and St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.
Doug is a graduate of the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Cheryl, have three sons. Their free time is spent shuttling the kids to baseball tournaments, football and basketball games, and swim meets.
