Evan joined the 13News Now team as a reporter in July 2018 and is excited to tell stories throughout Hampton Roads.

Evan grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and graduated with a Journalism degree from the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at Texas Christian University.

He started his broadcast journalism career as a multi-media journalist at WGXA in Macon, Georgia. While in Macon, Evan also filled in as an anchor, sports reporter and weather forecaster.

Evan broke numerous state and local government stories, covered Hurricane Matthew and Hurricane Irma, reported breaking developments in the case of Tara Grinstead’s disappearance and investigated illegal local government and law enforcement actions.

Evan also enjoyed sharing feature stories throughout the Middle Georgia area, ranging from traveling senior citizen dance crews to the return of long-lost high school yearbooks and a family’s quest to return a black cemetery to its former glory.

While at TCU, Evan served as the Executive Editor of TCU360 – working with a dedicated staff of student journalists. He covered a wide variety of stories, ranging from the life-altering challenges facing residents of ‘Colonias’ in El Paso to TCU football’s rise on the national level.

Evan also earned a degree in Spanish and Hispanic Studies from TCU and interned at KCTV5 in Kansas City.

He is excited to bring his versatility and passion for storytelling to the talented 13News Now team. He prides himself on finding a creative way to tell impactful stories and is always striving to improve his craft.

Evan is an adventurer at heart and is often looking for new travel locations and places to explore. He’s an avid sports fan, closely following Kansas City sports teams, Tottenham Hotspur and, of course, TCU.

He enjoys hiking, running, golfing and playing basketball. Plus, he’s a music-lover who is always adding to a never-ending list of Spotify playlists.
