Madeline David traded the American Southwest for the East Coast in July 2019, joining the 13News Now team as a multi-skilled journalist.
She comes to Hampton Roads from Albuquerque, where she previously worked as an anchor/reporter for a different channel 13 (KRQE-TV) - so, you could say it's her lucky number! While in New Mexico, Madeline reported on a myriad of stories, including conflict-laced state legislative sessions, devastating wildfires and the famous Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
Through her career in news, Madeline was introduced to helicopters and developed a love of aerial videography for storytelling purposes. She is an experienced HD camera operator using FLIR technology in both a Bell 206 and AStar 350 and has reported live from inside a helicopter while simultaneously shooting video of what's below.
Prior to her time in New Mexico, Madeline was a morning reporter for KXII-TV in Sherman, Texas. She got her start in TV news while in college, working behind the scenes at KTVT-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth as an associate producer and web producer. She also interned at WFAA-TV.
Madeline is a proud Texas Christian University graduate who studied Journalism and Criminal Justice (Go Frogs!). She's an Army brat, but claims the D.C.-Virginia-Maryland area as home, often visiting family and friends there. Being closer to loved ones was a major draw to joining the incredible 13News Now team in the beautiful Tidewater area.
Journalism is her passion, but when she's not reporting, Madeline enjoys traveling, weightlifting and spending quality time with her cat, Leo.
