President Trump sent a letter to a local 8-year-old boy as he pursues a kidney for his father.

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. – An 8-year-old boy in Burke County, NC said he only wanted one thing for Christmas: a new kidney for his dad.

After praying every night, Fore Putnam asked his grandmother where he should turn for help and she suggested writing letters. So he put together three notes and mailed them out; one to President Trump, one to President Trump’s daughter Ivanka, and Santa Claus.

And while Fore’s 38-year-old single father Trae is still on the waiting list, the youngster received a letter in return this week from none other than the Commander-in-chief.

According to a Facebook post by Amy Elliott, a letter addressed from the White House arrived at the Putnams' home earlier this week. In the letter, President Trump told the 8-year-old, “I have shared your letter with my staff, and they are working to see what help they can provide.”

Trae Putnam is in total renal failure triggered by a rare blood disease and has been on dialysis for nearly three years, according to the family. Putnam's immediate family and others have tried to donate a kidney but were unable to for medical reasons or simply weren't a match.
