GREENVILLE, SC (Greenville News) -- High schools in one South Carolina community are rallying around one of their own whose cancer battle has placed her in hospice care.

Bella Muntean, a freshman at Riverside High School, was highlighted in a video shared on the Greenville County Schools Facebook page in October. The district titled the video 'Warrior' and posted it with the following message.

"Every student at Riverside High School is a Warrior. But there's one young student who's tougher in battle than most. Bella Muntean is a freshman in the fight of her life. But chemotherapy, trips to the Cleveland Clinic haven't kept her from taking an advanced courseload and pursuing her passion for music. She and her mom have also started a charity that is absolutely angelic."

This week, an update written by Muntean was shared on the Riverside High School Facebook page.

In the post, Muntean said her tumors had grown significantly, new tumors ] appeared in her liver and her treatment was not working.

Muntean said despite being placed into hospice care, she intends to continue oral chemotherapy in hope that something might change, but she will not be continuing any other treatment.

Muntean went on to say this is not the end for her. "I know that God has a plan for me, and that he does perform miracles," Muntean wrote. "I believe that I will be healed and that a miracle will be performed for me."

What does she need from the community right now? "What I need right now is prayer," she wrote. "Please ask everyone you know to pray for me and send good vibes ... I need a miracle, but I believe it is coming!"

A vigil in Muntean's honor will be held Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church on Old Spartanburg Road in Greer.
