CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) -- Local non-profit 'PurposeHer' is holding an event for first-time moms and low-income moms. It will help get them ready for their little ones.
The "PurposeHer Community Baby Shower" will be held June 9 from noon to 2 p.m. at The Mount church, located at 215 Las Gaviotas Boulevard in Chesapeake.
Organizer Keshia Brown is asking for donations ahead of time, which can include wipes, diapers, or anything that may help new moms get off on the right start raising their children. The baby shower will also include doctors and nurse practitioners on hand to help educate new moms on post-partum care.
