NORFOLK, Va., (WVEC) -- 13News Now meteorologist Crystal Harper has a couple upcoming projects to help raise money for cancer research.

Crystal was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma last May and has been very open about her battle. She is officially and completely cancer free!

Crystal is working with the Norfolk Tides to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The Tides donated a portion of their tickets sales on May 4 to Crystal's Woman of the Year fundraiser campaign.

Crystal had the opportunity to throw the first pitch at the May 4 Tides game against the Louisville Bats!

Then on May 12, Crystal is hosting the MustDash for a Cure fun run/walk in Yorktown.

"It's a partnership with Gotcureage, a local nonprofit," she said. "All proceeds go to fund research as part of my Woman of the Year campaign."

If you sign up for the 5k fun run/walk or the children's half-mile course, sign up under "Team Crystal" when registering.

Tickets are available here, and more information on the race can be found at the Facebook event.
