NORFOLK, Va. — Kalfus & Nachman specializes in helping people who've been injured. The law firm said it wants to protect people from getting hurt in the midst of St. Patrick's Day celebrations.

The firm said it will provide its Safe Ride Home program in order to cut down on the number of potential cases of drunk driving that day.

"Protecting our community starts with efforts like our program, as our main priority is to keep our community of Norfolk as safe as possible." it said on Kalfus & Nachman's website.

The Safe Ride Home program offers free taxi rides home for people who think they've had too much to drink. It's available in the Hampton Roads area from 6 p.m. to midnight on March 17.

The rides aren't available people who just want a lift from one drinking spot to another.

Kalfus & Nachman said there are some limitations. It recommended that people have a backup plan because the volume of requests could be high. The law firm will reimburse a capped amount. You have to be 21 or older to call Norfolk Black & White Cab for a ride. The number is  (757) 855-4444.
