Charming Charlie is joining a list of retailers that will be shutting down some of its stores.

The specialty retailer announced Monday they have begun a number of measures to stabilize its business in support of a new Back-to-Basics Strategy, according to a press release.

Underperforming stores in the United States and its Los Angeles office will also close. Staff at the company’s Houston Corporate Support Center and Distribution Center will be reduced. Charming Charlie said the changes is to simplify its business operations, improve liquidity, and focus efforts on the core strengths that make the Company successful.

Charming Charlie Interim CEO Lana Krauter said reducing the size and scale of their corporations will give them an opportunity to stabilize the business.

“This was a challenging decision to make, but we know that it is the best interest of Charming Charlie, our customers, our vendors and our employees moving forward,” Krauter said.

Charming Charlie sells fashion jewelry, handbags, apparel, gifts and beauty products. The company currently operates more than 375 stores in the United States and Canada.
