Hampton Roads group offering free tax services to low income, senior residents

Hampton Roads Community Action Program (HRCAP) is offering free tax services to low-income families, seniors, and disabled residents.

NORFOLK, Va. — Hampton Roads Community Action Program(HRCAP) is offering free tax services to low-income families, seniors, and disabled residents.

The free tax preparation services will include free IRS and state tax return preparation, e-filing of tax returns with direct deposits of refunds, and at home tax services for elderly and disabled.

HRCAP has teamed up with Families Achieving Community Economic Stability (FACES) to provide the services for Hampton Roads residents who make less than $55,000 a year or for families with incomes of less than $53,930 and two or more children, single individuals with no children and incomes less than $15,010, or low-income, seniors, people with disabilities.

Drop-off and in-home tax services are will also be available for disabled residents upon request.

The free services will be available at 10 locations through April 17.
