VIRGINIA BEACH, Va, (WVEC) -- Police have arrested several people in connection to a shooting in Virginia Beach that left two men dead and one woman critically injured on Jan. 8.
Emergency dispatchers received a call about the incident in the 1400 block of Gate Tree Ct. around 5 p.m. The shooting took place in Ocean Gate Apartments near Naval Air Station Oceana.
Investigators have determined several people were inside the home when an argument started which led to the three victims being shot.
Officers said 28-year-old Michael Cain and 22-year-old Matthew Jyrkinen were the two men killed. The person who went to the hospital was female.
Sammie Jyrkinen told 13News Now she is Matthew's sister.
Sammie said of her younger brother, "He was a really goofy person and knew how to make others feel better when they were down. He is a very hard worker and always protected his family…He didn’t deserve to die this soon, not before I did."
Police arrested 22-year-old Dale Gauvin, 35-year-old Steven Gray, 29-year-old Malkim Hart and 33-year-old Justin Rigby. All four men have been charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit a felony, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and aggravated malicious wounding.
Gauvin, Gray and Rigby have additionally been charged with first-degree felony homicide. Hart was also charged with first-degree murder.
The men are being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
There's no word on the female victim's condition at this time.
The case remains under investigation.
