HAMPTON, Va. — The African American Heritage 365 High School Scholastic Bowl is a Jeopardy-style game show format and is intended to educate while engaging in a healthy spirit competition.  

Three-time championship team from Norview High School will be joined by ten other high schools which include Bethel, Booker T. Washington, Churchland, First Colonial, Granby, Kecoughtan, Maury, Menchville, Tabb, and Windsor. 

The featured speaker for the competition will be Virginia Secretary of Education Atif Qarni. 

The scholastic bowl will be hosted at the site where African American history began in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the first documented enslaved Africans arrival to North America. 

The African American Heritage 365 High School Scholastic Bowl will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Fort Monroe Theater on 41 Tidball Road.

The event is free and open to the public.
