Arcade bar set to open in downtown Norfolk

It's a growing trend nationwide that has made its way to Hampton Roads

NORFOLK, Va. — Circuit Social, Norfolk’s newest arcade bar, will hold a soft opening Friday, May 17.

The Granby Street bar will officially open to the public the next day on Saturday, May 18th. Ahead of the openings, Circuit Social COO Bo Cobb gave 13News Now a tour of the12,000 square foot space.

“As you walk around the building you are able to see a different section of each style of game,” said Cobb. “And even different generations of game.”

Circuit Social captures the nostalgia of the ’80s and ’90s with dozens of the most popular arcade machines from that time, including Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Double Dragon.

The machines were brought in from around the country. Building the collection is a process that takes months and months to come together.

However, the response from the public has turned the concept into a  growing trend nationwide.

This is Circuit Social’s second location. Its first, located in Richmond, has been a huge success according to Cobb.

“For people like me you can experience your childhood again,” said Cobb.

The arcade bar also features duck-pin bowling, skee ball and 48 craft beers, ciders, and wines on a state-of-the-art self-serve tap wall.
