NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) — Norfolk's Department of Human Services finalized 13 adoptions ahead of National Adoption Day on November 17.
Children in the area in foster care were placed into permanent and loving homes. They joined 747 children statewide who found their forever families through adoption.
On November 19 at 2 p.m., Norfolk Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court judges, adoption professionals, child advocates, and attorneys will recognize the adoptions of children and encourage the public to consider adopting children in foster care who are legally free to be placed in permanent and loving homes.
The adoptions will also be recognized during a formal City Council meeting at 7 p.m. on November 20 by Mayor Alexander.
