NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- The MacArthur Center is hosting "Calming Santa" on December 10.

From 9 to 11 a.m., families with special needs children and their siblings are able to come and see Saint Nick in a sensory-friendly environment.

Before the mall opens, families will have the opportunity to visit Santa with dimmed lighting, no mall radio, and lower shopper traffic.

Not only will kids have a chance to meet Santa, but make holiday crafts and eat cookies. Parents can relax and enjoy some coffee and donuts.

Reservations for the event are required, and the experience is limited to 50 families.
