Pig Pickin' and Family Fun Day returns to Virginia Beach

The 13th annual Virginia Beach Crime Solvers Pig Pickin' and Family Fun Day will be held Saturday, June 1 from 1 to 5 p.m.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — If you're looking for a day of great food and entertainment for the whole family, Virginia Beach's annual "Pig Pickin' and Family Fun Day" is coming back this weekend.

The event is being held Saturday, June 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Airport in Pungo. Malbon's BBQ is bringing the barbecue, and there will also be music, airplanes, an ice cream truck and kids activities that include a bounce house and egg hunt.

Tickets are $40 per person, and $10 for kids 12 years old and younger.

Proceeds go to Virginia Beach Crime Solvers, a program that helps give tipsters money if their information leads to an arrest and conviction. Because the program gets no money from any government agency, Crime Solvers relies on donations and money raised through fundraisers like the Pig Pickin'.

For tickets, please contact Jimmy Capps at 757-428-1821 or breakersvb@aol.com.
