VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- The largest volunteer-based EMS system in the country needs your help.
Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad is holding its 42nd Annual Oyster Roast. The team depends on donations to continue to offer free pre-hospital care and response to 911 calls.
Their biggest fundraiser, the Oyster Roast, is set for Sunday, March 4 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
Along with delicious oysters (raw, roasted and fried), the public will get to enjoy an exclusive brew crafted by Smartmouth Brewery, other craft and domestic beer, as well as wine.
For non-seafood lovers, Pungo Catering BBQ will be on-hand with fried chicken and sides.
Live music will be performed by Hotcakes, as well as auctions, raffles, local artisans to shop, and kid activities.
The public will also get a chance to explore rescue squad vehicles and equipment.
Sponsorship tickets and individual tickets are available at vbrs.org. Individual tickets start at $55.
