FRANKLIN, Va. (WVEC) -- One man is in custody, while police are searching for the second suspect in connection with a robbery of a 74-year-old woman.

The robbery happened just after 11:30 a.m. on December 5 in the 400 block of 4th Ave.

Franklin Police say a 74-year-old woman was robbed while returning from the bank with a cash-filled envelope.

The first suspect, De'Vian Tymel Worthy, 18, was arrested a few blocks away from where the robbery happened. Officers found a loaded 9mm loaded pistol on him.

Worthy is charged with robbery and a weapons violation. He was also charged with burglary and attempted burglary of houses on Woodland Drive, which happened on December 1.

Detectives are working to identify the second suspect in connection with the robbery. He is described as a black male, 5’ 7”, stocky build, wearing a dark hoodie with writing or a stripe on the front and dark pants.
