Drive-by shooting in Hampton leaves man with serious injuries

Hampton police are working to learn what led up to a drive-by shooting that sent a 37-year-old man to the hospital with serious injuries.

HAMPTON, Va. — Police are investigating a drive-by shooting in Hampton that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

Officers got a call just before 7:45 p.m. Saturday about a man that walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound.

They arrived at the hospital to learn the 37-year-old victim sustained life-threatening injuries. However, he is in stable condition.

Investigators believe the victim was standing in front of a home in the 700 block of Spruce Street when he was shot by a passing vehicle.

Police don't know the motive or circumstances surrounding this shooting. No other details have been released at this time including suspect information.
