ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WVEC) -- A man was sentenced on November 7 in Federal Court for weapon and drug related charges stemming from his arrest by Elizabeth City Police in August of 2016.

Karlos Edwardo Poole was arrested by narcotics agents because he was selling heroin.

At the time of his arrest, Poole was living at a residence at Zack Circle. It was alleged that we used the residence for the keeping and selling heroin.

On August 24, 2016 agents executed a search warrant on the residence and stopped Poole in a car after leaving his home.

Poole was in possession of 28 grams of crack cocaine, 74 grams of powder cocaine, 37 grams of Heroin, 34 grams of marijuana, $7,000 in cash and a firearm.

On the same day Poole was arrested on state charges that included Trafficking both Heroin and Cocaine and Possessing a Firearm as a Felon.

On November 7, 2017 Poole appeared before a district judge in Raleigh were he entered a guilty plea.

He was sentenced to 13 years in federal custody with supervised release to follow.
