Police are searching for the person who shot a man early New Year's Day at Franklin apartment complex.
According to investigators, the 29-year-old victim had been walking in the Dorchester Square Apartments shortly after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday when gunshots were fired, hitting him in his neck and foot.
The victim was taken to Southampton Memorial Hospital but then transported by air ambulance to an area trauma hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
Detectives found several cartridge casings at the scene and discovered an occupied apartment was also hit by gunfire. No one inside the apartment was injured.
