HAMPTON, Va. — The Hampton Police Division is trying to identify the suspect(s) connected to two drive-by shooting that took place on Sunday.

Around 1:30 a.m., Public Safety Communications received a call about two women being shot at while driving in the 4000 block of West Mercury Boulevard. The two 22-year-old victims were driving eastbound when a black vehicle approached and started firing toward them.

To avoid getting hit, the victim swerved, went off the road, and hit a bush. There were no injuries reported from this incident.

Over an hour later around 2:44 a.m., Public Safety Communications received a call about a shooting that just took place in the 100 block of Friendly Drive. On the scene, officers found two men, one 25-years-old and the other 36-years-old. Both had gunshot wounds.

The men were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

After investigating, police learned the victims got out of their vehicle and started walking toward a residence when a black vehicle approached and starting firing. Police said the suspect(s) were able to get away before they arrived on the scene.

At this time, police believe these two incidents may be related. The motive and circumstances surrounding these incidents remain under investigation, and police have not released any suspect information at this time.
